Rehabilitation Program for Latarjet Surgery: A Comprehensive Guide

Building Something Out of Recovery

Over the past six months, my life has largely revolved around one thing: rehabilitation after my Latarjet shoulder surgery.

I chose this procedure because my shoulder had become extremely unstable, with multiple dislocations and sub-dislocations over time. What followed after the surgery, however, was not a straight path forward.

There were complications.
There was nerve damage.
And there were moments where progress felt uncertain.

But step by step, things improved.

And looking back now…
I didn’t just recover.. I learned a lot along the way.

From Experience to Something Valuable

At a certain point during my rehab, a thought kept coming back:

👉 Why not turn this experience into something useful for others?

So together with my physiotherapist, I decided to create a structured rehabilitation program.. something I wish I had when I started.

Not just random information.
But something clear, practical, and experience-based.

Something real.

Two Parts, One Goal

We built the program around two main parts.

You can find more information about the program here

The first part is an ebook.

In this book, I share my personal journey.. the ups and downs, the challenges, and the lessons learned.. but more importantly, it’s filled with practical information about Latarjet surgery itself.

To make it broader than just my story, I also reached out to more than 20 people who underwent the same surgery. Through a Google Form, I gathered their experiences, insights, and advice.

The result?

👉 A collection of real-world input, combined into one clear guide.

Whether you are preparing for surgery or already recovering, this gives you a better idea of:

  • what to expect

  • what can go wrong

  • and what can actually help

The second part is where things become more practical.

A Program You Can Actually Follow

Together with my physiotherapist, I created a structured rehab program, available through a Google Drive.

Inside, you’ll first find a short introduction from my physiotherapist, where he shares his professional perspective on the recovery process.

And then…

👉 The core of the program: four phases.

Each phase represents a different stage after surgery:

  • Phase 1: 0–6 weeks

  • Phase 2: Mobility & control

  • Phase 3: Strenght

  • Phase 4 Back to sports

Every phase has its own “folder,” with exercises adapted to where you are in your recovery.

No guessing.
No overdoing it.
No unnecessary risk.

Just a clear structure you can follow.

In total, the program includes around 85 videos, where I demonstrate the exercises together with my physiotherapist.

So instead of just reading what to do…
you actually see how to do it.

Why I Made This

I didn’t create this because I had to.

I created it because I know how confusing and frustrating recovery can be.. especially when things don’t go as planned.

And if this program can:

  • give someone clarity

  • reduce uncertainty

  • or simply make the process a bit smoother

then it’s already worth it.

Final Thought

Recovery is never just physical.

It’s patience.
It’s discipline.
It’s learning to trust your body again.

And if you’re going through Latarjet rehab yourself…

👉 Just know that progress is possible.. even when it doesn’t feel like it at first.

God bless!
